My Story

I Didn't Start This Journey Because I Wanted a Healthier Home.

I Started Because I Needed Answers.

For years, I struggled with health problems that seemed to keep piling up.

I dealt with allergies, digestive problems, migraines, skin issues, fatigue, inflammation, and other symptoms that affected everyday life. Some were frustrating. Others were frightening.

One of the hardest was never knowing when eating would become a problem.

There were times I could eat a food without an issue, only to eat the same thing another day and suddenly feel my throat begin to close. One Thanksgiving, after only a few bites of dinner, I spent what felt like forever struggling and wondering whether my family would need to call 911.

Eventually, my doctor prescribed an EpiPen.

I reached a point where I knew I needed to start asking more questions.

So… I Started Looking at What We Were Bringing Into Our Home.

I began paying closer attention to food.

Then ingredients.

Then labels.

And eventually, I started looking beyond food at the products my family used every day—laundry products, cleaners, personal care products, fragrances, and more.

The more I learned, the more I realized how difficult it can be for an ordinary person standing in a store aisle to know what they're actually buying.

Words like natural, clean, green, pure, and plant-based can sound reassuring.

But I learned to stop relying only on the front of the package.

I started turning the bottle around.

I started reading ingredient lists.

I started researching.

I started asking questions.

And most importantly, I started making different choices.

But I Didn't Throw Everything Away.

This part matters to me.

I didn't wake up one morning and completely overhaul our home.

I couldn't.

Most families can't.

Instead, when something ran out, I looked for a better option.

One product became another.

One ingredient I learned about led me to another.

One small decision led to the next.

And over time, those small choices became a very different way of living.

That's where one of the most important ideas behind Healthy Home Project came from:

You don't have to change everything today. You just have to make one better choice than you made yesterday.

Why I Created Healthy Home Project

I know how overwhelming this world can become.

Search for information about one ingredient and suddenly you're reading about twenty others.

One person tells you something is perfectly safe. Another tells you it's terrible.

One package says natural. Another says non-toxic. Another says clean.

Before long, you can feel like the only solution is to replace everything you own, grow all your own food, make every product yourself, and never leave your house.

That's not what Healthy Home Project is about.

I created this project to make things simpler.

My goal is to research, learn, ask questions, share reliable information and help families make informed decisions about the things they bring into their homes.

No fear.

No perfection.

No throwing away everything you own.

Just information you can understand and practical changes you can actually make.

My Journey Became Bigger Than Products

As I continued making changes to my lifestyle, I also changed the way I ate and cared for myself.

Over time, I lost around 100 pounds.

I became more active.

I even went from struggling with my health to challenging myself physically in ways I once wouldn't have imagined.

But the biggest change wasn't a number on a scale or a particular product in my cabinet.

It was learning that I could ask questions and make informed choices for myself and my family.

And that's what I want to give other families.

Because I Believe Something Simple

Our homes should be the places where we feel safest.

We may not be able to control everything we're exposed to.

We may not always have the perfect option.

And none of us will make the perfect choice every time.

But we can learn.

We can read.

We can ask better questions.

And when we know better, we can choose differently.

One product.
One meal.
One habit.
One choice at a time.

That's the Healthy Home Project.
